How we plan visits
There are no area limits, subject to approval from V-Tech. Scheduled servicing and calibration are planned in advance, which lets us group visits by area. Repairs are arranged around engineer availability; we confirm arrangements for each approved application.
Before confirming an engineer visit, we check access to the test bay, the machine type and whether your site needs an induction or a named escort. Let us know about restricted working hours, vehicle movements and any booking windows imposed by a shared depot. A clear contact at the site helps the engineer arrive prepared. If a specialist lifting arrangement or an additional person is needed, we discuss that before travel rather than leave the work incomplete.
Island and remote sites
Island and remote work needs more planning than a mainland visit, mainly because of ferry and flight schedules and the need to get every part there first time. What helps:
- Book early. Planned work gives us time to arrange travel and combine visits on the same island.
- Send the serial number. It starts SR0 and lets us confirm the model and pack the right parts.
- Describe faults fully. Photos of error messages and failed parts help us avoid a second crossing.
- Tell us about access. Opening times, site access and lane availability on the day.
Island visits are covered, subject to terms. Tell us your site location when you enquire so we can explain the terms that apply.
Installations
A full installation and commissioning service is available across the UK mainland and islands. If you're planning a new lane, see the link to new BM brake testers further down this page.
Multi-site operators
Fleet operators and groups with sites in several regions can have their machines looked after under one BM Brake Testers service contract from V-Tech, with visits planned per region so lanes aren't all out of action at once.
Not sure if you're covered?
There are no area limits, subject to approval from V-Tech. Send your site postcode with your enquiry and we will confirm how we would plan the visit.
